Also, I may put some light on the all “Subnautica / FarSky” inspiration thing. I am thinking about making a postmortem, explaining the short story behind the company and the difficulties I faced. Thank you for all your messages, it is really unexpected for me and very touching. They also expressed their gratitude for the comments since the news broke and contemplated eventually writing a postmortem on the company’s history. In a few follow-up replies the developer confirmed that they asked Valve for a final sale for the games and expected the discount to appear after a few days. We thank everyone who enjoyed our games, and hope we brought some hapinness, emotion and fun to most of you. The same will apply for all the games of the Farsky Interactive company. Anyone who already bought the game will still be able to play it. In April 2022, the game will be removed from the Steam store. Each of the game pages for FarSky, Sky Break, and The Free Ones was updated with this short announcement: Oh and btw your game (I haven't yet played it) being in part or whole in water, why then did you title/call it Fay(Sky)? Please keep up the great work! Sorry if this question has already been answerd.Farsky Interactive announced on Steam and in their email newsletter on March 19th that all three of their titles on Steam will be delisted “in April”. I hope I was able to bring you some fun with FarSky, and to share my passion for the ocean.īrilliant, and thanks for being indeed just that cuz it can only be a good thing for our hobby right?! Who knows maybe before I'm gone they'll be a CoD-(part 100) lol! Just a thought/having fun ppl & happy gaming all! Some players also asked if I would be willing to make a sequel to FarSky, with a professional 3d engine, bringing the game to a brand new state, better looking, with multiplayer and tons of new content? It is possible, indeed, but not instantly. I will make another game, and I will clearly use all your feedback to avoid doing the same mistakes again. It was my first big project and I actually spent more time on it than I actually planned in the first place. So what is the plan for the future? As I just said, FarSky won't go any further. It was not designed to easily develop the game any further since that was not the plan. Even if it does well what it does, there are some unavoidable restrictions. The 3D engine is homemade and is too limited. Yet the sandbox mode is here to add longevity to the gameplay. The goal was to be different, and the focus during the development of the game was really given to the atmosphere and the gameplay elements rather than making a long game to play. The game was not designed to be as long as the usual survivor games. I understand that after the few hours of gameplay, some of you are asking for more content to push the game to a new level. It is not a game made to spend more than 10 hours on it.
